Privacy Policy

This policy covers handoff.systems and explains what we collect when you contact us or become a client, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it. Plain language, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Who we are

Handoff builds marketing and operations systems for businesses, then hands them over. You can reach us at hello@handoff.systems about anything in this policy, including deleting your data.

What we collect

When you request a build plan

The form at /build-plan asks for your name, company, email address, mobile phone number, website, revenue range, what you want built, and a short description of your situation. You choose what to put in it.

When you become a client

The onboarding form collects business information needed to do the work: goals, customer details, pricing and performance numbers, positioning, compliance constraints, and access to the accounts we are building in. This is shared with us by you, deliberately, so we can build the thing you hired us for.

Automatically

Standard server and analytics data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring page. We use this to understand what is working on the site and to rate-limit form abuse.

How we use it

• To reply to you, prepare your build plan, and schedule a call
• To deliver, support and document work you have engaged us for
• To send service messages about your project or request
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
• To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse

We do not use your information to build advertising audiences targeted at you, and we do not enrich it against third-party data brokers.

Text messages and SMS consent

If you tick the consent box on the build plan form, you agree to receive text messages from Handoff about your request. Specifically:

• What you will get. Messages about your build plan request, scheduling, and follow-up on the work you asked about
• Frequency. Message frequency varies. In practice this is a small number of messages tied to your request, not a recurring campaign
• Cost. Message and data rates may apply, charged by your mobile carrier
• Opting out. Reply STOP to any message at any time and you will receive no further texts. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@handoff.systems
• Consent is not a condition of purchase. If you would rather not receive texts, email us instead and we will work with you the same way

No mobile information will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the messaging providers strictly necessary to deliver the message, and those providers are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only to the extent they need it:

• Hosting and security, to serve the site and block abuse
• Form, automation and CRM tools, to route your submission to us and track the work
• Email and messaging providers, to deliver our replies to you
• Analytics, to understand site usage in aggregate

We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a business transfer, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable follow-up period. Client records are kept for the duration of the engagement and afterward as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, unless we are legally required to retain it.

Your choices

• Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy
• Ask us to correct anything inaccurate
• Ask us to delete it
• Opt out of texts by replying STOP, or of email by replying and telling us

Email hello@handoff.systems and we will handle it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information as those laws define it.

Security

Submissions are sent over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled tools. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send passwords or account credentials by email or through a web form. When a build requires access to your accounts, we will tell you a safe way to share it.

Children

This site is for businesses. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use information you already gave us will be communicated directly.

One honest note. This is a standard privacy policy written to cover how this site actually works, including the disclosures mobile carriers look for when approving business text messaging. It is not legal advice. If you operate in a regulated industry or outside the US, have a lawyer review it before relying on it.
